Vaughan (Maintenance)

Vaughan applied to be a Crew volunteer with the Trust and is enjoying crewing. However, Vaughan really enjoys being part of the maintenance crew.

Vaughan is part of the Maintenance WhatsApp group and so he always knows what jobs need doing on the boats. He can let the team know when he has time to help with anything from engine mechanics to painting.

Heather (Admin. Support)

Heather engaged in administration jobs for many years. She had often seen the Trust’s narrowboat on the river near to her home.

Life’s circumstances meant that Heather had some time she thought might be useful to the Trust and so offered to help with a few administration tasks. Heather now plays a vital role in liaising with Care and Nursing Homes.

Barbara (Crew Member and Skipper)

Barbara loved the idea of being a crew member with the Baldwin Trust. But she had never done anything like it before and didn’t know if she would have the time or the ability to volunteer.

Barbara has now completed her crew training and regularly crews with the Trust. She’s able to fit her volunteering around her other commitments and so is now a valuable part of the crewing team. Barbara has now completed her externally accredited skipper training and now both skippers and crews for the Trust.

Rose (Promotional Events)

Rose loves chatting with people and really values the work the Baldwin Trust does in the community. Bringing these two things together, Rose is happy to attend local shows and events from time to time to talk about the Trust.

Rose is always part of a team and typically spends a few hours, three or four times a year, promoting the work of the Trust.

Richard (Advertising)

Richard has always enjoyed chatting with and submitting articles to the press about local charities and worthy causes.

Since joining the Trust, Richard has been a crew member and has also been a crucial part of having the Trust advertised in various local and national magazines and newspapers.
