Step Three is to see the trips that are available on Dandelion.
Dandelion makes four-, five-, six- and seven-hour trips both north and south out of Barrow Boating. This page shows the trips north but by clicking on the ‘View South-bound trip’ link you will be able to read a short narrative about those trips.
Once you have decided on the trip you wish to book, please select the ‘Book this cruise’ link and you will be taken straight into our booking and payment section.
If, for any reason, you can’t book straight away then please be aware that the availability calendar may have changed when you return.
4 Hour River Cruise
Leaving the mooring at Barrow boating, we sail under ‘Bridge 28’ next to the Navigation Public House. Very soon, on the left, you may see some alpacas and ponies. Our first lock is Barrow Deep lock. After going under the arched bridge, built in 1845, we sail on the Grand Union Canal. We then go through the flood lock and past Pillings Lock Marina. Continuing our journey towards Loughborough, we pass under a variety of road, rail, and footbridges until we reach the Chain Bridge ‘T’ junction. Our turn for home will be made somewhere in this area, river conditions dependent, and there may be opportunity for a short stop if time allows.
The all-inclusive price for this 4-hour trip is £156.

5 Hour River Cruise
This trip follows the route of the 4-hour trip, but the additional time will allow us to venture to the outskirts of Loughborough before making our turn for home; river condition dependent, there will also be time for a stop during the trip.
The all-inclusive price for this 5-hour trip is £196.

10am, 10.30am, 11am and 11.30am
6 Hour River Cruise
This trip follows the route of the 4-hour trip, but the additional time allow us to venture beyond Loughborough, turning for home around Normanton on Soar, river conditions dependent.
The all-inclusive price for this 6-hour trip is £236.
This trip can start from the following times…
10am, 10.30am and 11am
7 Hour River Cruise
This trip follows the route of the 6-hour trip. However, on weekdays (not Bank Holidays) there would be sufficient time to stop for a pub lunch at the Plough in Normanton on Soar, or to moor up for a picnic lunch.
The all-inclusive price for this 7-hour trip is £276.
